B.O.M.B Fest Lineup Revealed: Snoop Dogg, Weezer and George Clinton Cornerstones
The third annual B.O.M.B Festival, or “Bring Our Music Back” fest, will feature a powerful lineup of performers set to visit the Western Connecticut State University campus May 28th and 29th.
Snoop Dogg, Weezer, Wiz Khalifa, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, Coheed and Cambria and George Clinton & Parliament are all slated to perform in Danbury.
The event’s inception is a story to die for.
Frankie Bombaci Jr. originally undertook the project as a senior project while attending Lyme-Old Lyme High School in Old Lyme, Connecticut. His father, Frank Bombaci Sr., perhaps known best as the founder of Glaceua Vitamin water and Smart water, assisted in the funding and planning to create what had to be an A-plus project.
Now a sophomore at Loyola University, Frankie Jr. is continuing his role as creative director for B.O.M.B. Fest, drawing in the festival’s greatest lineup yet in what is sure to be a highly successful charity event.
Seventy percent of all proceeds go directly to Connecticut’s Children’s Medical Center and the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. The festival website even includes a “mission statement.” You don’t get that with your average fest…
With early-bird tickets starting at affordable rates, $89 for weekend passes, $299 for VIP, B.O.M.B Fest is providing an intriguing music getaway to cash-strapped youngsters across the Northeast.
This year’s bill also includes over 25 local artists; quite a loyal allocation for home-grown support. Bombaci’s charity and homeliness are centric to this showcase; beautifully reminiscent of the healing role music can play in our lives if used the right way.
For the third consecutive year, the festival has found a new home for itself. Its founding year was hosted Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut, while last year’s festivities were moved to the Durham Fairgrounds.
Tickets are still available via Ticketweb.
Hot Hot Music will be on-site in May bringing you full coverage of this year’s festivities. Live on and prosper!
