Soundgarden Summer Tour Confirmed
One of the greatest staples of the 1990s grunge movement is taking its epically heavy sound across the country for the first time in almost 15 years. Soundgarden has announced four upcoming shows, as part of their summer tour, with dates across the United States and one appearance in Canada.
- July 2: Toronto, Ontario (Molson Canadian Amphitheatre)
- July 13: Philadelphia, PA (Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing)
- July 18: Denver, CO (Red Rocks Amphitheatre)
- July 22: Los Angeles, CA (The Forum)
Pre-sale tickets for these shows will be available Monday, with public ticket sales on April 22-23.
More dates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, lead singer Chris Cornell wraps up his solo acoustic tour with performances stretching until May 6th.
To add to the good news: the band have confirmed their plans to hit the studio for the sixth album and first since their 1996 effort Down on the Upside.
After initially confirming a reunion on New Years Day 2010, the Seattle natives played three shows last year, including a headlining slot at Lollapalooza in Chicago last August. Last year also marked the release of Telephantasm, a compilation of hits and unreleased tracks which hit shelves on September 28th via A&M Records, earning platinum status after a single day of retail availability.
