Identity Festival Lineup Released

May 10, 2011

Late last week, a new touring-festival experience emerged on the summer horizon, set to begin in mid-August in Chicago, Illinois.

The Identity Festival, a purely electronic showcase of some of today’s hottest acts, will tour 20 cities this summer from August 11th to September 10th. The lineup was recently revealed, leaving no doubts that the big bucks spent on gas money will be well spent for this electronic circus.

The Identity Festival's inaugural year will be one worth remembering, with apperances by electronic greats DJ Shadow and Pretty Lights, with up-and-comers Holy Ghost and Aeroplane.

Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Avicii, Steve Aoki, Disco Biscuits, Holy Ghost, DJ Shadow, The Crystal Method, Chad Hugo (of N.E.R.D.) and many more will combine powers for one helluva touring experience.

It should be noted that performances by Modeselektor, Aviici and Pete Tong will be limited to select dates. Additionally, solo artist Skrillex will be making a sole appearance, which has not yet been specified.

Other electronic music festivals taking place this summer, such as Electric Zoo (New York, NY) and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Detroit, MI), will have to put up formidable lineups if they want to come close to reaching the widespread appeal of a touring festival such as Identity. With the economy down like it is, many fans will be only be catching a handful of shows each summer, making festivals all the more enticing.

Identify joins the likes of Vans Warped Tour as one of the few touring music festivals in the United States. Warped Tour has been showcasing the latest and greatest of alternative rock, metal, ska, emo, post-hardcore and even extreme sports, since way back in 1996.
