Yoko Ono’s Secret Piece in Central Park Tomorrow

June 21, 2011

Heads up for this late newsreel!

Yoko Ono will be in Central Park tomorrow morning, Tuesday, June 21st, to partake in her ‘secretive piece;’ an intriguing musical experiment that invites all comers.

This piece of sheet music will be all the instructions needed for budding performers in Central Park this Tuesday morning.

Starting at 5 a.m., attendees are expected to meet at Columbus Circle, carrying any musical instrument of their choosing. (Or their voice.)

That is presumably all the material attendees will need. (Not forbidding acid or marijuana for application throughout the morning.)

Guides will be available to send performers to portions of the park to play an accompanying note to the singing of the park’s birds. What an intriguing idea, to blanket the peaceful park in tranquil harmony on what is slated to be a beautiful first day of summer in the park.

Performers are welcome to return to Columbus Circle at 8 a.m. for hot green tea.

So if you’re walking or jogging past Central Park tomorrow morning, be sure to pull the iPod headphones for just a second…
