Jim Uhls to Write “Year Zero” Miniseries

June 24, 2011

It seems Nine Inch Nail’s 2007 concept album Year Zero has not seen its final days.

Reznor's "Year Zero" album painted a fatalistic view of society in 2022, where governmental paranoia, spawned by nuclear and terrorism hostilities, has eroded basic liberties and spawend chaos throughout the globe.

Writer Jim Uhls, known best for writing the screenplay for the popular film Fight Club, has now accepted the assignment of scripting a miniseries based on the dystopic story of Year Zero.

While rumors of a Year Zero series had surfaced as early as September 2010, the The Hollywood Reporter broke the first concrete details on the project this week. The series has been picked up by HBO and BBC.

This announcement comes only months after Trent Reznor won an Academy Award for his work with Atticus Ross in producing the soundtrack to The Social Network.

Mr. Reznor is making quite an interesting transition to film and television.

What’s next? A reality show?
