Pixies’ Fall Tour Unveiled

July 8, 2011

The Pixies are sending a two-month long, beautiful apology to cities they’ve never visited over their 25-year lifespan.

The Pixies' "Lost Cities" tour should win an award for its heartwarming, grassroots campaigning; far past their own elegant election.

The Boston natives and indie rock revolutionaries will embark on a 19-stop tour this fall, playing at venues of cities and towns their previous tours just couldn’t cross. Not only that, the band will be honoring its own roots, playing their infamous Doolittle album in its entirety at each tour stop.

The “Lost Cities” tour will include opening slots by Florida indie freshmen Surfer Blood and later, opening performances by Imaginary Cities.
If the Pixies’ fall tour were some sort of political campaign, I’d call this one helluva sweet move.

They got my vote.
