Unreleased White Stripes Songs Surface

July 15, 2011

Approximately five months after officially disbanding, the White Stripes have blessed disappointed fans with a different form of retribution.

In the time it takes you to figure out how to do one of those string tricks you could have listened to the Stripes' latest (maybe even last) recording releases.

Former singer/guitarist and current owner of Third Man Records Jack White released two previously unheard covers the band recorded early on in their careers in 1997. The Stripes’ takes on the Otis Redding song “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” and Love’s “Signed D.C.” appear on one of the latest exclusive vinyl releases for record club members.

Both tracks are sweetly slow, bluesy ballads which you’ll have to cling to until their next unannounced vault release…or reunion world tour with B.B. King.

You can hear both tracks in their entirety below.

Hey White Stripes fanatics: don’t want to miss a special offer like this again? Just join the Third Man Vault record club. It’ll be the smartest thing you ever did; or at least this week.

Enjoy…
