Pharrell Introduces New Alcoholic Drink “Qream”
Not long after rapper Snoop Dogg entered the beverage industry with his Colt 45 sponsored “Blast” drinks, N.E.R.D. member Pharrell has now released his own sauce.
Hilariously titled “Qream,” the beverage is aimed at female consumers, who will have the choice of two flavors, strawberry and peach. Marketed by Diageo, makers of such alcoholic favorites as Bailey’s, Crown Royal and Jose Cuervo, the product is an attempt to replicate the success of other celebrity-driven alcoholic drinks.
In 2007, Diageo launched Ciroc, a vodka branded by the support of rapper and hip-hop music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The success of Ciroc has undoubtedly blazed a trail for other endeavors such as Jay-Z’s “Ace of Spades.”
Pharrell joined the brains at Diageo in the bottle’s design and even taste.
The days when rappers were only involved in music are over. From clothing lines, to jewelry to alcohol, the rhymers of olden days are morphing into worldwide entrepreneurs.
Here’s to betting this drink sucks.
