Interview with Bonnaroo Founder Ashely Capps

August 4, 2011

Ashley Capps' influence on the music industry is not limited to the Southeast. His events have revolutionized the music festival circuit, while strengthening the unique music scene of Knoxville, Tennessee.

This piece is actually property of Blank Newspaper, which I serve as Music Editor for. Blank is one of many respected local publications Knoxville, Tennessee has to offer. Noted, Ashley Capps and his company, A.C. Entertainment, are headquartered in Knoxville. Capps has also mentioned his fondness for Blank Newspaper’s music coverage, which I hold at the highest of all Knoxville print outlets.

The interview was conducted by Blank’s Editor and Founder Mr. Rusty Odom, with an introduction provided by myself.

That said, here is the link for the complete interview, which should be posted on HHM in the near future. For now, check out Blank Newspaper’s new website, or follow us on Twitter @Blank_Newspaper.

Number 1 reason Capps is able to speak in this interview from a position of absolute success…”We turned to the jam band movement for a few different reasons…”

What he really means is,”We thought hippies would be good starter fuel, just until the coals were nice and hot. Then we could kick most of them out and create the festival we actually wanted from the beginning.”

    Pure Genius.
