Pearl Jam Debut New Song “Olé” on Jimmy Fallon
Love him or hate him, Jimmy Fallon continues to reel in excellent artists for his late night lineup.
This week was no exception, with Pearl Jam performing their newest song “Olé,” not before an interview with Director Cameron Crowe, who this year, released his documentary Pearl Jam Twenty, as part of the band’s 20th anniversary.
You can watch the performance and Crowe’s interview with Fallon here.
While the documentary is slated for a September 20th release, you can download the new song free on the Pearl Jam official site. Also dropping the 20th is a new book, chronicling the band’s 20 years together in previously unseen pictures, stories and even a shot of Eddie Vedder’s receipt from his bank savings the week before Ten was released.
An interesting connection, former Billboard.com editor Jonathan Cohen, who now serves as music booker for Jimmy Fallon, penned the book.
Another note: Last night, Roots drummer Questlove, whose group doubles as the Jimmy Fallon house band, dropped an interesting Tweet prior to the show about members of Pearl Jam, who humorously asked the Roots to take a backseat to the Seattle rockers.
As if there weren’t enough grunge anniversary’s going on, Nirvana is slated for a unique retrospective on their groundbreaking album Nevermind this month too.
