Wilco’s Cassette Cover Contest (a-palooza)
It’s hardly been a week since our look at the resurgence of cassette tapes in the indie market and now, Chicago’s own Wilco are giving the musical medium a boost of their own.
In another creative contest from the Americana band, Jeff Tweedy and Co. are asking fans to submit their own photos to be judged and eventually published on the cover of their newest album The Whole Love. The five fan photos that win will adorn the covers of a limited-edition cassette version of the new album.
You can upload your submissions on Hipstamatic.com. The contest is open until Saturday, October 15th.
There is one rule, or rather clause that will give your photo the best shot: the band asks that pictures are inspired by any of the album’s track names. For your own use, here is the tracklisting:
- Art of Almost”
- “I Might”
- “Dawned on Me”
- “Black Moon”
- “Born Alone”
- “Open Mind”
- “Capitol City”
- “Standing O”
- “Rising Red Lung”
- “Whole Love”
- “One Sunday Morning (Song for Jane Smiley’s Boyfriend)”
