Eric Bana to play Elvis Presley in Upcoming Movie

October 25, 2011

Eric Bana, known for his roles in films such as Munich, Star Trek and Hulk is about to take on his most recognizable role, arguably of his career.

"The King" and Nixon's infamous meeting on December 21, 1970.

The actor is slated to portray the late Elvis Presley in Cary Elwes’ upcoming film Elvis & Nixon, which tells the bizarre, yet true story of Presley’s 1970 meeting with President Richard Nixon at the White House in Washington, D.C. Not your ordinary photo op between worldwide celeb and leader of the free world, Presley actually requested the meeting to discuss with Nixon the proposition of commissioning him as a Federal Agent-at-Large in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.

The President will be played by Danny Huston, who has provided roles for X-Men: Origins, The Aviator and Children of Men.

Actor turned director Cary Ewles, best known for his role as Westley in the 1987 classic The Princess Bride, will be making his directorial debut.

Here, for your enjoyment, is the letter Nixon sent to Presley shortly after their meeting at the White House.
